Under the Localism Act, Parish and Town Councillors are required by law to register their disclosable pecuniary interests. These are recorded in a Town and parish councils register of interests and published on Durham County Council’s website.
Councillors are required to complete a register of interest form.

The Parish Council must publish, annually by no later than 1 July, in the year immediately following the accounting year to which it relates, in accordance with the ‘Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities‘ certain information in relation to each individual item of expenditure together with a summary of the purpose of the expenditure and amount.
